This masterplan stinks !!! We live in Hever, an area of ‘Outstanding Natural Beauty’ and all this plan promises is even more constant noise, day and night spoiling our lives completely ! Already we can’t sit in the garden due to noise, can’t sleep with windows open at night so sweat in bed during summer.
Also what is going to be done about the extra traffic on M25/M23 and surrounding roads ?
We live under the flight path in Penshurst . It6 seems to me that Gatwick Airport say one thing to fob us off whilst they are planning what THEY WANT TO DO.. I am worried what impact all these extra flights will have on the health of our family. 60 flights an hour and an increase in the number of hours in the day will mean constant noise with no brake. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty, Green Belt and scientific interest. with lots of places for tourists to visit , Penshurst Place, Hever Castle, etc. GATWICK YOU ARE GOING TO IMPACT ON SO MANY PEOPLES LIVES. .
The masterplan does not take into cosideration the damage to peoples health due to the noise pollution ( constant lack of sleep causing stress ) air pollution/poisoning. There is no mention of the additional costs that the NHS will incur in treating the medical conditions the above will undoubtedly cause, there is currently an epidemic of mental health disorders that will spiral out of control if the proposed plan is passed. Added to the above the road congestion/pollution that will be caused by the expansion, also damage the infastructue will be a disaster. when the emergency runway was constructed it was for emergencies, not additional take off/landings, using this runway on a frequent basis will bring serious safety issues into play.
I do not think that reporting by email aircraft that fly too low helps, I believe this is just a distraction and noboby takes any action to stop the aircraft below the official limits, additionally the explosion of proposed take off and landings (including night flights) will have catastrofic inplications for what is an area of outstaning natural beauty.
I do not trust the Gatwick Airport Authourity, they have the tools to know exactly the altitude of aircraft, why are people living in the outlying areas of the airport expected to act as the authourities policeman and report the flagrant disregrad of the rules? there are too many incidences of low flying aircaft now, I dread to think what will happen if this uncontrolled expansion is allowed to go ahead .
Unwelcome aircraft noise has significantly increased since 2014 over Westerham, Sevenoaks and the surrounds, it appears airports just do whatever they like and disregard the quality of life of those living and visiting below the flight paths. The idea Gatwick and Heathrow intend to increase flights generally, extend flight hours and are pushing for extra runways is of concern.
These airport people should not be allowed to make these important decisions as their interest seems to be completely commercial. .
Reject increase use of Gatwick runway
